Yoga Workshop – Yin and Yang Spring Balance

yin and yang workshop walford village hall

Sunday 23rd April – 9.30am – 1pm

Rebalance after a long feeling winter as we relax, energise, and restore mind, body, and soul together. This yoga workshop is designed to leave you feeling like you’ve shaken off the cobwebs of the cold, hard months in every way.

Over 3.5 hours, we shall practise: kirtan, fun vinyasa flow, shavasana massage, relaxing yin yoga, guided meditation. All complemented by Yogi tea and vegan cake halfway through.

The vinyasa flow will be for all levels, with modifications always offered. It will incorporate lots of hip opening to destress, back bending to open up, and arm balances and headstands to challenge yourself in a fun way and build strength and confidence. It will be inclusive of all, from beginners through to intermediates. The idea is to have fun, move, and enjoy it – you do not have to be able to do everything to do so.

The yin yoga workshop will be really accessible, super calm, and the perfect preamble to winding down for the guided meditation. After the higher energy practice preceding it, the yin will feel like the perfect balance of energy and leave you floating into the meditation where the aim is to just LET GO! If you fall asleep, you will not be alone!

Booking will be confirmed upon receipt of payment, bookings can be made online at www.energyogawithhelen.com. Payment is made in the normal way: BACs or cash.

Huge turnout for Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day fun day walford village hall ross on wye

A PERFECT blend of late summer sunshine, fun, games, tempting food and drink and a dog show drew the crowds for our Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Cllr Bev Pope and soon the crowds arrived to enjoy the fun.

The dog show was a particular success.  All categories were well supported with the waggiest tale putting the judges to the test.

Children and families also enjoyed traditional games like splat the rat and hook a duck and also took delight in taking part in the egg and spoon and sack races.

Local band Singled Out entertained the crowds whilst the public enjoyed food from Vic’s Big Baps and drinks from the Drunken Boar mobile bar.

The event was a huge success and the money raised will go towards improvements at the hall. In addition, the event supported the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Tim Pople, Chairman of the village hall trustees’ committee commented: “We are so grateful to all the local businesses and public for supporting the event, it was a huge success, and we look forward to the next event.”

The hall is available to hire for parties and events and the committee is committed to organising a whole calendar of events going forward and would welcome any suggestions or feedback on what activities people would like to see.

If you would like to get involved with running a club, hiring the hall, or assisting the village hall committee, please get in touch via e-mail at hello@walfordvillagehall.co.uk or contact us on our Facebook page @Walfordvillagehall
