Walford Village Hall Family Fun Day & Dog Show

Looking for the perfect way to spend your Bank Holiday Monday? Then bring the whole family – dogs included – to Walford Village Hall (HR9 5QS) for a day packed full of laughter, games, and community spirit!

We’ll be kicking things off from 11:00am with plenty to see and do throughout the day.

🐾 Dog Show

Our ever-popular Dog Show will run in two parts (12pm & 2pm), with classes to suit every pup. Whether your dog has the waggiest tail, is a champion sausage catcher, or just happens to be the judge’s favourite, there’s a chance to shine and take home a rosette! Entry is just £2 per class, and you can enter as many as you like.

🥚 Traditional Races

At 1pm, it’s time for some good old-fashioned fun with the Egg & Spoon and Sack Races – great entertainment for kids (and the grown-ups brave enough to join in!).

Don’t miss the raffle draw at 3pm – we’ve got some brilliant prizes up for grabs, kindly donated by our local supporters and sponsors.

  • Some stalls on the day will be cash only, so please bring coins and notes with you.
  • Parking is kindly provided at St Michael’s Church.
  • Refreshments and stalls will be available throughout the day.

Looking to reset your nervous system, connect inward, and enjoy an afternoon of deep rest and nourishment? Join Helen for a beautifully curated 3-hour Yin Yoga and Sound Healing Workshop designed to help you unwind and restore.

The session begins with 75 minutes of Yin Yoga, combined with a Shavasana massage to release tension and ground the body. This gentle practice invites stillness and opens the space for deeper healing. After a short break and a chance to set your intention, Helen guides you through a calming 10-minute meditation, enhanced by the soothing tones of singing bowls.

From there, the experience deepens into a 50-minute Sound Bath, where you’ll be immersed in the healing vibrations of crystal bowls, chimes, and other instruments. This soundscape helps clear energetic blockages, ease stress, and promote emotional balance.

To close the session, enjoy vegan cake and Yogi Tea in a relaxed space. There’s an opportunity to reflect or share what came up during your experience—but only if you feel comfortable doing so.

This unique event is £30 for 3 hours, with limited spaces to maintain an intimate and nurturing atmosphere. Bookings are final upon payment, so early reservation is recommended.

Held as part of Refugee Week 2025 – the world’s largest arts and culture festival dedicated to highlighting the resilience, creativity, and contributions of refugees and those seeking sanctuary – this family-friendly event promises something for everyone. This year’s theme, “Community as a Superpower,” reminds us of the strength we find when we come together, support each other, and celebrate our diversity.

Expect a vibrant mix of arts and crafts, games, and kite making, along with delicious Afghan food, refreshments, and live music. Let your creativity shine with henna hand painting, or dress up in traditional clothes and enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere. There’s also a raffle with great prizes to be won!

Entry is just £1 for adults, and children go free—making it an accessible and affordable day out for families and individuals alike.
