If you’re in need of some deep relaxation and a mindful reset this summer, there’s a beautiful upcoming workshop that might be just what you’re looking for. Hosted by Helen from Ener-G Yoga, this Yin Yoga and Crystal Bowl Sound Bath Workshop promises a calm and restorative morning designed to help you slow down and reconnect.

Set in the peaceful Walford Village Hall, the event will begin with 75 minutes of gentle Yin Yoga, including a relaxing shavasana massage to ease the body and quiet the mind. After a short break and some intention setting, participants will enjoy a 10-minute guided meditation with singing bowls, followed by a 50-minute immersive crystal bowl sound bath – perfect for those seeking to soothe their nervous system and explore deep meditation.

The morning ends with a thoughtful touch: vegan cake and warming Yogi Tea, and the option to chat about your experience – or simply sit in silence and soak up the stillness.

This workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to embrace the energy of summer, calm their inner world, and explore the healing benefits of sound and stillness.

Booking is now open at www.energyogawithhelen.com, and you can learn more about the sound healing element here.

Afghan Family Fete – Saturday 21st June

Afghan Family Fete

Looking for a joyful, meaningful way to spend a summer Saturday? Join us for the Afghan Family Fete on Saturday 21st June, from 11am to 3pm at Walford Village Hall (HR9 5QS), as we come together for an uplifting day of celebration, connection, and cultural exchange.

Held as part of Refugee Week 2025 – the world’s largest arts and culture festival dedicated to highlighting the resilience, creativity, and contributions of refugees and those seeking sanctuary – this family-friendly event promises something for everyone. This year’s theme, “Community as a Superpower,” reminds us of the strength we find when we come together, support each other, and celebrate our diversity.

Expect a vibrant mix of arts and crafts, games, and kite making, along with delicious Afghan food, refreshments, and live music. Let your creativity shine with henna hand painting, or dress up in traditional clothes and enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere. There’s also a raffle with great prizes to be won!

Entry is just £1 for adults, and children go free—making it an accessible and affordable day out for families and individuals alike.

All funds raised will support the incredible work of Herefordshire City of Sanctuary and the Howle Hill Memorial Garden, helping foster welcoming communities for those who need it most.

So come along, meet new people, learn something new, and celebrate the power of community. Whether you’re local or just visiting, everyone is welcome. Let’s make this a day to remember!
