Are you ready to put your knowledge to the test and enjoy a fantastic evening with friends? Come along to Quiz Night at Walford Village Hall on Friday, 11th April, at 7:30pm for a fun-filled night of trivia and laughter.

This event is the perfect chance to challenge yourself, show off your general knowledge, and compete against other teams for the top spot. Whether you’re a trivia expert or just in it for the fun, everyone is welcome!

In addition to the quiz, we’ll be holding a raffle with some exciting prizes up for grabs. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks to keep your energy up throughout the night. The entry fee is just £5 per person, and teams can have up to six players.

Best of all, this event is in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK, so by taking part, you’ll also be contributing to an amazing cause.

The festive season is just around the corner, and what better way to get into the spirit than by joining us at the Christmas Fayre at Walford Village Hall on Saturday, December 7th, from 11am-2pm. It’s an event the whole family won’t want to miss. Gather your loved ones and experience the joy of Christmas in our charming village hall.

As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a festive atmosphere filled with holiday cheer. Explore a delightful array of craft stalls showcasing unique handmade gifts and decorations. It’s the perfect opportunity to find something special for everyone on your list while supporting local artisans.

Feeling lucky? Don’t forget to take a chance at our raffle, where you could win some fantastic prizes and while you’re here, treat yourself to a delicious hot turkey roll with all the trimmings—an absolute must-try that promises to warm your belly and heart. Pair your meal with a comforting hot chocolate, a nice cup of tea or coffee, or a refreshing cold drink to keep you refreshed.

And what’s a Christmas fayre without a special visit from Santa? Get ready for smiles and laughter as he arrives on his sleigh at noon, ready to spread joy to all the children (and those young at heart). The grotto will be open from 12-2pm, where little ones can meet the man in red and receive a special treat. Plus, we’re thrilled to announce that our grotto is dog-friendly, so don’t leave your furry friends behind! Bring them along for a magical experience that’s sure to be one for the memory books.

Ready to get your creative juices flowing? This December we’re throwing a festive wreath-making evening at Walford Village Hall. Whether you’re a crafting pro or a total newbie, this is the perfect chance to unleash your inner elf and create a stunning wreath that will dazzle your friends and family all season long!

A DOG show, a Disney-themed fancy dress contest, games and a packed schedule of family entertainment awaits at Walford Village Hall on Monday, August 26, for a big summer family fun day which traditionally attracts hundreds of families for fun in the sun in a beautiful location in the Wye Valley.

Excitement is building for the popular annual event, helping to raise funds for Walford Village Hall, which is building on the success of the last two events, which saw hundreds turn out to enjoy the fun.

This year, the event will stage a Disney-themed fancy dress contest, which is sure to be a big hit with families in addition to a giant inflatable slide for children.

The ever-popular dog show returns, boasting ten different classes ranging from the best fancy-dressed dog and the waggiest tail to the best sausage catcher and king of the show.

The event, at Walford Village Hall, near Ross-on-Wye, promises to be a day of fun in the sun for families with a range of traditional children’s games including splat the rat, hook-a-duck and sack races.  

At the Walford fun day, visitors can also visit a wide range of stalls with a raffle with a box of top-quality wine and an air fryer as top prizes.

In addition, a huge range of stalls will be present offering a huge variety of exciting goods and games, including Teddy Tombola, hand-made jewellery, crochet, crafts, tarot reading, Pokemon cards, frames and Pokemon art, jams and jellies and sweet treats to name but a few.

Tempting food and drink is also available ranging from Midnight Pizza to Soup by T, ice cream, cakes and so much more.

Anthony Jones, Walford Village Hall Trustee, said: “Last year’s event was an amazing success. So many people turned out in the sunshine to support us. They had a great time and this year, it looks to be our best yet with a wide variety of outlets with delicious food and drink, many stalls, our very popular dog show. We’d like to thank all those stall-holders for their support. We can’t wait to see all the colourful costumes for our Disney-themed fancy dress competition. We look forward to seeing you at the event.”

Entry to the fun day is £1 for adults. Children and dogs go free.

Entry fee to dog show is £2per class, you can enter as many classes as you like but some restrictions apply.

Rosettes will be awarded for first and second places.  Entries will be taken from 11am under the trees just left of the gate as you enter the hall car park.

Judging starts at midday for classes 1 to 5 and at 2pm for classes 6 to 10

Dogs can be entered into the competition until just before the class is being judged

Please remember to bring cash as some stalls do not have card facilities.
